Description
Twelve-year-old Rayne loves soccer and dreams of a normal life, but everything changes when she begins losing her hearing. At first, she tries to hide it, fearing how others will treat her, but as her world grows quieter, she struggles with the changes. Her parents have different ideas about how she should handle it—one supports her getting a cochlear implant, while the other encourages her to embrace Deaf culture.
As Rayne grapples with her identity, she discovers the strength to advocate for herself. She finds support in unexpected places, including new friends who help her see that being different doesn’t mean being less. Through determination and courage, she begins to embrace her new reality.
By the end, Rayne realizes that she doesn’t have to choose between two worlds—she can create her own path. Her journey teaches her the power of self-acceptance and finding her own voice.
